The Director General of Tourism, Marina García, today inaugurated the ecotourism route 'Santomera, between mountains and lemon', in which water is the theme of travel, for which the Ministry of Culture and Tourism has allocated a total of 65,000 euros .
Garcia, who was accompanied by the mayor of Santomera, José María Sánchez and the Councillor of Tourism of the consistory, Maribel Civic, said that along the route you can see how water and the garden are the main references that characterize the landscape, nature, history and culture of the municipality.
The section, called 'Santomera, between mountains and lemon', has a total length of 15,600 meters, beginning at the Coto Cuadros, on the western edge of town next to the reservoir Santomera, and ending at the border suroste the municipality.
The route passes through different landscapes, from the pine forest of the reservoir area to the typical garden of Murcia.
In addition to the 15 km route, have enabled some additional branches to it, both for its ecological interest, as interest from a standpoint of accessibility to the itinerary.
Throughout the tour have enabled three rest areas with benches, tables, bins and signage.
The route is divided into four subsections, and since water is the theme of travel, each of them appreciate different characteristics regarding the use of this element.
Thus, the four stages are called respectively 'The forest and water' blue, 'The modern irrigated' green, 'The garden and the mountains', in yellow, and 'traditional garden', color orange.
