Santomera traffic lights will be more sustainable through their adaptation to LED technology, driven in the town santomerano, the Bank of Azarbe Sisco and by the departments for Sustainable Development and Land Management, after receiving a grant of 85,000 euros from the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade.
A total of 651 optical replace incandescent and obsolete, with new technology incorporating LED lighting whose consumption is seven times lower than the previous, which represents an energy saving of 75% for the lights of the town, besides significantly reduce emissions of carbon dioxide, CO2, and maintenance costs.
The Councillor for Sustainable Development, Victor Manuel Martinez, wanted to highlight "the great functionality of these new lenses due to its higher brightness, reliability and durability, acting in a positive way on road traffic"; associations adding that "this action is carried performed in accordance with our concern to make a more sustainable Santomera adapted to new technologies. "
From now on, the lights of town, instead of having an incandescent light for each color-red, amber and green, will have a series of LEDs located directly on a circular to its corresponding color.
