The Minister of Education, Universities and Employment, Pedro Antonio Sanchez and Santomera mayor, José María Sánchez, inaugurated this morning the new Secondary School in the town, which is expanding the network of public schools in the region and responds schooling needs of the municipality.
This new Institute of Secondary classes started this course with three units in the first year of ESO, for natural and progressive growth in the coming years up to 12 groups.
The Education Minister said that "the autonomous community makes an important economic effort in staff and infrastructure to provide quality education to all society Murcia. Even in times of crisis, we make effective and efficient investments, such as that involved in this new Santomera institute ".
Investment in this infrastructure was 4.5 billion euros and represents the second public school in the town, to join the IES Poeta Julián Andujar.
On a technical level, the center is designed to house 12 classrooms versatile and known for being the first in the region that has the HVAC system fan-coil ', much more energy efficient.
It also has solar thermal installations for sanitary hot water.
Its design is modular and transparent, allowing maximum flexibility and alternative uses of their spaces.
It also has a sports hall and two tracks.
"We have an outstanding infrastructure, but are now teachers and students who have to take care of return on this investment," he said Sanchez, who noted that the center was created to be bilingual.
