Santomera City Council through the Youth Council, will work with Red Cross in order to help families who are in need with food on a charity project to begin in April and will last until May.
The idea came Balumba Scout Group, who met with the humanitarian organization and has the support of Council for Youth, Victor Martinez.
The Red Cross president Santomera, Blanca Rosa Gonzalez Sanchez, who welcomed the project positively, indicating that the goal is to collect the maximum possible non-perishable foods (pasta, flour, milk, rice, biscuits and sugar), then distributed to the needy in the Red Cross headquarters Santomera on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 19:00-21:00 hours.
The basic bags Red Cross will distribute the IES Julián Andugar Poet in schools in Casa Grande, in the Youth Space and in public spaces on the first Friday of each month.
According to the Red Cross president, joins initiative to which they are already underway and with that in a year, have collected about 16,000 kilos of food aid in this current situation to the most needy in Santomera.
