Santomera Mayor, José María Sánchez, and the Minister of Public Works and Planning, José Ballesta, have launched today the first stone of the works to improve road safety at the crossing of Santomera (RM-414).
In these works, which are now, the regional government invested a total of 352,945 euros on this road which has over 4.6 million trips per year.
In particular, work on the RM-414 (Santomera-Abanilla) are carried out in the first four kilometers from the town of Santomera access from the Mediterranean motorway (A-7).
The project includes improvement of drainage system at various points of the voyage and the industrial area located in the area for proper drainage of rain water and paving of a road surface throughout the section under the action .
In addition, there will be placing a new sign, both horizontal and vertical, and the corresponding beacon by reflector to improve visibility, placed at intervals of 20 meters.
During the ceremony, the mayor of Santomera thanked the regional government and the Ministry of Public Works and Planning on this road performance "very important in the city and its redevelopment will be an improvement for the road and neighbors in this area. "
Finally, the Minister José Ballesta indicated that this type of project, carried out on roads that carry a high traffic intensity, "are essential to maintain the good condition of our roads and adequate road safety conditions."
