The Minister of Public Works and Planning, José Ballesta, accompanied by the mayor of Santomera, José María Sánchez, today made the first stone of the works to improve road safety at the crossing of Santomera (RM-414).

The works start today also allow "a more fluid and comfortable communication between the garden area and the municipalities of Murcia and Abanilla Santomera," said the counselor.
The regional government invested 352,945 euros in improving this road, which registers more than 4.6 million trips per year.
In particular, work on the RM-414 (Santomera-Abanilla) are carried out in the first four kilometers from the town of Santomera access from the Mediterranean motorway (A-7).
"The improvements will seek a more suitable running conditions for the 370,000 heavy vehicles operating in the area, derived from existing industrial and commercial activity in the vicinity of industrial area of the municipality Antolinos Vicente," said the counselor.
The project includes improvement of drainage system at various points of the voyage and the industrial area located in the area for proper drainage of rain water and paving of a road surface throughout the section under the action .
Also, there will be placing a new sign, both horizontal and vertical, and the corresponding beacon by reflector to improve visibility, placed at intervals of 20 meters.
