At santomeranos not useful for anything save more water.
The terms of the contract the previous government team signed with a company in 2003 continue to haunt the City Council each year as shown in the obligation to compensate Aqualia with 37,000 euros.
The company established with the Consistory a minimum annual consumption and the compensation that the council must pay in case of missing them, that is, be obligated to pay an amount of 0.192217 euros per cubic meter not consumed.
Santomera Mayor, José María Sánchez, complains that this is already the third consecutive year that this occurs and that consumption has been declining due to awareness that citizens have about the lack of water in the region.
In this line, the mayor notes that the amount of compensation has been rising since the year 2007 paid a total of 25,000 euros, 34,000 by next year and 3,000 more by 2009.
The mayor also referred to the bill that, annually, the City must pay for its citizens to watch TV and complains that the former mayor signed a month before the elections, an agreement with the company supplying the signal for this purpose by which this year is going to pay back 18,300 euros "thanks to the brilliant socialist management, we became the only municipality in the region to pay for that service," concluded Sánchez.
