Santomera Mayor, José María Sánchez, director general of Family, Gender and Children, Laura Muñoz, and Councilwoman Women's Services, and Equal Opportunities, María Dolores Abellán, I presented the Municipal Plan for Equal Opportunities Women and Men (2010-2013), which was attended by many women who came to collect the document that was distributed in two formats: in a book and a USB memory.
This plan, which was exposed by the agent of Equality, Anton Carolina, is an indispensable tool to implement the principle of equal opportunities between women and men, both in the domestic context of the City as an organization, as in all areas of competition.
Thus, the plan consists of a preliminary diagnosis, which makes an analysis of the situation of women and men in different areas of citizen participation and the objectives and action plans within each of these areas to correct unequal status of women.
For its implementation it is necessary to establish a commission composed of equal technical staff of the City Council and the involvement of the political staff of all the departments.
In addition, areas of intervention of the plan are eight: Local Administration, Employment and Training; Reconciliation of work, family and staff, Domestic Violence, Education, Social Participation, Culture and Sport, and Health and Social Welfare.
