The coordinator of United Left Santomera, José Luis Egio, has urged the Autonomous Region today to approve the grants for professional workshops run by local councils and associations to facilitate the incorporation of youth into the labor market.
Egio noted that the 2009-2010 grants were approved in September last year at the start of the annual training period, while those for 2010-2011 are not yet approved, which has caused the abandonment of the workshops by of young people in Santomera.
He mentioned as an example the situation of a hairdressing shop in the town, where half the girls enrolled had to leave classes to the "chaos" which include aid this year, "thus leaving a good opportunity to train and get a small income. "
It has also criticized the "inability" of the departments of Employment and Social Services to promote the free training of the unemployed, while recalled that the consistory of Santomera was "one of the few in the region that no request support for the development of these courses. "
"Many other municipalities were thousands of euros in aid to municipalities in their courses were gardening, mechanical or plumbing," he assured Egio, who recalled the example of Murcia (who received almost 550,000 euros), Lorca (about 350,000) and Archena (100,000).
In his view, "the activity of the departments of Employment and Social Services has been limited so far to hang medals, selling as its own effort to a particular association, promoter and organizer of the workshops."
