The Minister of Social Policy, Women and Migration, Joaquín Bascuñana, inaugurated today the expansion of the Center for Aging Santomera, following the work carried out to allow users to have new spaces and services.
The extension works carried out due to concern raised by the City Council power Santomera additional space in which to locate premises for workshops for the elderly, as well as new services such as hairdressing.
The works undertaken, funded by the Ministry of Social Policy to 453,865 euros for a total cost of 600,000 euros, have allowed a plant to raise more than the Centre and the ground floor and restructure existing basement.
Responsible for Social Policy said, "These renovations have expanded the available space and improve services provided to them by installing a hairdresser, a multipurpose hall and new classrooms workshop for adults, but in addition also enhanced the comfort of the Centre with the installation of an elevator adapted to access, easily and without barriers to any floor of the building. "
In the opening ceremony were present, along with the Minister, the local mayor, Jose Maria Sanchez, and the secretary general of the Ministry, Fernando Mateo, and the general director of Pensions, Assessment and Inclusion Programs, John Brown.
