The director of the Institute of Youth in the Region of Murcia, Veronica Lopez, accompanied by the mayor of Santomera, José María Sánchez, and the councilman of Youth, Victor Martinez, today visited students participating in summer school in the municipality.
A total of 800 children aged 3 to 12, who is expected to deliver educational, leisure and free time during the months of July and August.
The summer school aims to provide an alternative for summer entertainment with educational and recreational activities, and to facilitate the reconciliation of working life of parents to enjoy the holiday of youth.
For the summer months have organized several workshops, including one devoted to developing healthy recipes, water play, sports and music musical, artistic creation, to encourage reading and environmental courses.
In each action, using participatory methods that enhance the values of tolerance, respect for the environment and equality.
To carry out the activities, the school has a team of eighteen monitors leisure, four coordinators, a special educator and a warden to oversee the programs developed by the students during the summer.
