The Local Police of Santomera arrested RLP, 41 years old, on the morning of April 15, accused of a double crime against road safety.
The arrested was spotted by a municipal police patrol about 0:20 hours Sunday, while driving a van on the shoulder of the road of Abanilla (MU-414) zigzagging.
When observing this maneuver, the agents tried to stop the vehicle, but its driver ran away accelerating, leaving the road and entering a field, on which continued the march, at high speed, until it was blocked by a fence metallic
When they arrived at the vehicle, the agents appreciated that RLP was accompanied by their two youngest children, aged four and ten, both located in the front seats, one on top of the other, without any type of child restraint.
After requesting the documentation and verifying that the van lacked compulsory insurance and did not have the necessary technical inspection, the patrol subjected the driver to a breathalyzer test that was positive (0.76 mg / l).
In view of what happened, the Local Police arrested RLP for a double crime against road safety: for driving exceeding the limit of 0.6 mg / l of alcohol in expired air, amount that marks the border between administrative fault and crime criminal, and reckless driving, after having put at risk both his own life and that of his children.
The two minors were transferred to police stations and subsequently handed over to their respective parents.
