The general director of Highways, José Antonio Fernández Lladó, informed this week of the tender for the first section of the RM-1 motorway (Zeneta-Santomera), which is scheduled for next October, in its first three kilometers, which will join Zeneta with the municipality of Beniel.
The investment is 30 million euros.
Fernández Lladó met this week with residents of Zeneta to whom he detailed the project and told them that "they will be the first beneficiaries in the complete development of the RM-1 highway."
He stressed that this new means of communication includes, among others, a link with the Reguerón highway, "which will reduce the connection time between Zeneta and Santomera by four." He indicated that it will favor the departure of agricultural products from this hamlet, as it will improve the connection with the motorway of the Mediterranean (A-7) and with the coast of the Mar Menor, and this will have a decrease in transport costs and travel times.
For the general director, "this highway is an important step for the inhabitants of Zeneta are better connected and have better infrastructure and more secure."
The new layout will have two roads, with two lanes each, a median of variable width, between two and ten meters, and six links.
In addition, this section will have 10 structures, of which five are viaducts, with a total length of 3,800 meters, two underpasses, two overpasses and a false tunnel of 460 meters in length.
The information study is in the period of public exposure until today in the General Directorate of Roads, the City of Santomera and the bulletin board of the City of Murcia for those interested can analyze it.
