The Department of Social Services today announced the launch of the Comprehensive Plan for Child Care, that for the second consecutive summer will try to combat the risks of social exclusion and malnutrition turned-holiday closure of schools and school canteens.
To that end, the program includes scholarships for students belonging to poor families in the municipality can access completely free both recreational and educational activities and the catering service with which it will the next edition of the Summer School a municipal initiative aimed at children between three and twelve years that start on June 27 and end on September 2, with groups in Santomera and La Matanza.
Basically, the Comprehensive Plan for Child Care maintains its philosophy over last year, when he lassoed for the first time just a few weeks after the arrival of the new government team PSOE.
However, as a novelty, this time will be accessed separately to the two proposals: the characteristics of the Summer School on the one hand, activities and catering service on the other.
Another important change is the significant reduction of requirements to be met by beneficiaries of the measure, especially in the case of small families.
According to the councilman of Social Services, Javier Campillo, this has been possible thanks to the "substantial increase in budgetary allocations for social spending."
"We do not want to limit care to apply patches or only cover the food needs of children, but to provide a comprehensive response that reaches all the people who really need it," he adds.
There is not an application deadline nor a maximum number of beneficiaries;
the only condition is, or have the favorable report of social workers of the Commonwealth of the Eastern Region, or meet the established economic criteria: have a lower monthly income to 665.64 euros in the case of households formed by only two persons;
from 718.89 if there are three;
from 772.14 if four;
from 825.39 if there are five;
from 878,64 if there are six;
and 905.27 euros when seven or more.
Campillo stands out about it, "have been a much less restrictive amounts than last year, seeking to expand the range of some families who can benefit and are likewise in need".
