The relatives of the people who participate in the Leisure and Leisure Program EL CLUB, have begun meetings to consolidate the program within the services offered in each of the municipalities circumscribed to the Social Services Center of the Commonwealth of the Eastern Region, in order to cover and solve a problem shared by the four municipalities that make it up (Santomera, Beniel, Fortuna and Abanilla).
The reality, for people with disabilities, within these municipalities is characterized by being exempt from a variety of opportunities that give them the ability to act and develop their daily activities normally and in equal opportunities as the rest of the neighbors.
The driving force behind this initiative, EGALECO Association for Educational Study and Action, defends the rights of persons with disabilities recognized in the United Nations International Convention and recognizes leisure and free time as vital factors that favor the quality of life of people in general, regardless of where they reside and, therefore, EGALECO has been doing THE CLUB for two years and has extended its services to the municipalities of Santomera and Beniel and with the aim of completing the Eastern Region as well ( area with the highest depopulation rates in the Region).
The round of conversations has begun by the Commonwealth of Social Services where, the association and families, has requested the support and collaboration of this agency so that all the agents involved, especially local and regional administrations, assume co-responsibilities towards the program of leisure and, in this way, the continuity and consolidation of THE CLUB in the four municipalities is guaranteed.
