The quick performance of the Benemérita, in collaboration with an association of animals, located in the Murcian district of El Raal, could save her life
Its owner has been investigated as the alleged author of the crime of domestic animal abuse
The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, thanks to citizen collaboration, has developed an investigation aimed at locating a dog that was in a state of abandonment in a home in Santomera, which has culminated with its rescue 'in extremis', dehydrated, with numerous wounds and in a state of unconsciousness due to a strong heat stroke.
Its owner has been investigated as the alleged author of the crime of domestic animal abuse.
The investigation began thanks to citizen collaboration, when the Civil Guard had knowledge of the situation of a dog, of the Rottweiler breed, in a house in Santomera.
The agents verified, through the viewing of several recent photographs of the animal, the unfortunate health conditions, as well as the multiple wounds that it presented in the body.
Immediately, the Benemérita, in collaboration with an association of animals, located in Raal-Murcia, established a device aimed at the location of the house where it was located.
When the agents found him, the animal suffered a fading, so he was transferred for urgent veterinary attention.
The diagnosis confirmed that he also had an infectious disease that he was not being treated for.
Apparently, due to the high temperatures and the shortage of water, the dog had suffered a severe heat stroke which, had it not been located and taken care of immediately, could have had fatal consequences.
According to the investigation, the animal was in the courtyard of the house, in a state of abandonment, without food or water, so it presented a deplorable state of health.
The investigation has culminated with the identification of its owner, who has been instructed as alleged author of the crime of animal abuse.
In addition, it lacked a license for the possession of potentially dangerous animals, which has been brought to the attention of the competent authorities.
The perpetrators of this type of events may incur the authorship of a crime related to the protection of flora, fauna and domestic animals due to animal abuse or neglect, typified in the current Criminal Code and punished with penalties of three months and one day at a time. year of imprisonment, and special disqualification of one year and one day to three years for the exercise of the profession, trade or trade related to animals, as well as for their possession.
