The XLI edition of the Festival of Moors and Christians of Santomera will reach tomorrow, Saturday June 29, its great moment.
At 9:30 p.m., the grand parade will depart from the Plaza de la Coronación, during which more than half a thousand people enrolled in the ranks of the four festive groups will wear their gala costumes.
The order of march on this occasion will be as follows: Knights and Ladies of Ampurdán, Smugglers of the Mediterranean, Moors Almoravides and, finally, Yonud, Children of the Desert, Cábila that shows the captaincy 2019 in the figure of Lucrecia Acosta Soto.
The main entrance will be the change of route: as a consequence of the redevelopment of Gloria Street, the parade will depart from the Plaza de la Coronación to pass along the Avenida de la Mota and the streets of La Mina and Montesinos, before facing Juan Carlos I avenue and continuing, as up to now, for Calvario and Octavio Carpena Artés.
On Sunday, the Moors and Christians Festivities will close with the last informal parade (starting at 7:00 pm, leaving from the camp, located in the parking lot of Gloria Street) and, later, with the offering to the patron, the conversion of the Moor and a fraternization barbecue.
