Santomera has hosted today the XIV Meeting of Judges of Peace of the Region of Murcia.
The historic Casa del Huerta has been the central stage of the event, presided over by the mayor of the municipality, Inmaculada Sánchez Roca, and led by the Councilor for Social Rights, Alicia Poza Sebastián.
Also present were the presidents of the Superior Court of Justice and the Provincial Court of Murcia, Miguel Pasqual del Riquelme Herrero and Miguel Ángel Larrosa Amante, respectively, as well as thirty Peace Judges or alternates, among whom, of course, , were the hosts: Mariano Sanz Navarro and Salvador Cerezo Cucharero.
The event, organized by the Santomera Peace Court in collaboration with the City Council, started at 10:30 am with a reception and a formal ceremony that was also attended by four Santomeran ex-alcaldes.
In the course of it has defended the important work performed by the Courts of Peace and have received their credentials the latest additions: María Ángeles Moragues Chazarra and Miguel Cano Sarabia, titular and alternate, respectively, Alguazas.
Then, the delegation visited Casa Grande, an emblematic building that, among other agencies, hosts the Santomera Peace Court.
Visitors have been pleasantly surprised both by the excellent facilities placed at the disposal of the Court and the guided tour by the official chronicler of the town, Blas Rubio García, which has included a photographic exhibition that reviews the history of the municipality.
Subsequently they have moved to the Cooperative El Limonar, where they have been received by the company's president, Rafael Sánchez Sánchez, who has explained in detail the work process and the vicissitudes that the lemon sector is currently experiencing.
The XIV Meeting of Judges of Peace of the Region of Murcia has closed as a fraternization meal served in the courtyard of the Casa del Huerto.
