The secretary of municipal policy of the PSRM-PSOE and regional deputy, Alfonso Martínez Baños, has assured that the mayor of Santomera, Inma Sánchez Roca, has limited to comply with a court ruling that forced him to close the quarry of Arimesa because he lacked a license municipal in its activity.
He recalled that this activity has been developing illegally for more than 40 years.
"And of course, the mayor has only done to demand compliance with the law that requires the company Arimesa to perform a simplified environmental impact assessment to obtain the corresponding municipal license."
According to Martínez Baños, it is normal for the mayor to require all businesses that have any involvement with the environment, to carry out the corresponding environmental impact assessment.
"This is what Inma Sánchez has done in this and in all cases."
"Therefore, from the PSRM-PSOE we are going to support the mayor, because we are very proud of how the municipality of Santomera is governing and the steps that are being taken in this particular case," he concluded.
