'Mantua', from the Alhameña Teatro Sinfín, was the other outstanding work
The VI International Competition of Amateur Theater of Santomera (CiTA) yesterday threw the curtain with the last of the six performances included in the program, started on May 18.
On the stage of the Theater of El Siscar, focus of the six performances, have passed during the last two weekends two local companies Mar Teatro and Theater Group of El Siscar, both out of competition and four guests: Teatro Sinfín (Alhama de Murcia), UGTeatro (Murcia), Tejuba (Las Torres de Cotillas) and Gaudint Teatro (La Nucía, Alicante).
The Department of Culture, organizer of this sixth edition of the CITA, distributed a total of 2,300 euros in prizes, including three hundred to cover the assembly and travel expenses of each of the four visiting groups.
There was no distribution, however, in the remaining 1,100 euros, which went entirely to Gaudint Teatre, winner of the four main prizes: the Best Show ('Punk rock', 500 euros), Best Direction (Manuel Gimeno, 200 euros), Best Actor (Alfredo Teja, 200 euros) and Best Actress (ex aequo for Nuria Gualde, Lorena Tierraseca and Victoria Soliveres, 200 euros).
Although it was left without added economic reward, El Siscar also emerged as the winner of the Asociación Cultural Teatro Sinfín, which won three of the remaining awards thanks to its show 'Mantua': the Special Prize of the Public, a special mention of the jury, " the emerging talent of its young performers and the scenic originality of its proposal ", and the recognition of the best female performance of distribution, which went to Elena Trujillo.
The last of the awards went to Antonio Ruiz, from UGTeatro, whose performance in 'Colón, verses of minor art for an illustrious male' was considered by the jury as the best male performance of cast.
