Emergency Services Algezares, Santomera and Las Torres de Cotillas reinforce their staff from 1 June (30/05/2008)

The Emergency Services Cotillas Towers, Santomera and increase their operational capacity Algezares implementing the double shift the next night from June 1, with the recruitment of nine doctors, three for each health center, and 9 nurses 3 for each health center.

This increase will assist patients in their home and in the health center during evening hours.

The total number of health workers from each of the Emergency Services in Primary Care expands from 7 doctors and 7 nurses and 10 doctors and 10 nurses.

Until now these three emergency services available for a tour of duty in the morning, for emergency care in homes and public roads, from 15:00 hours in the afternoon and into the night with a double guard duty for urgent attention in the street and at home and care for patients attending the Emergency Department itself.

During the night shift was on duty a doctor-nurse who took over the two activities.

The progressive increase in demand for services during the night shift is the reason Murciano Health Service (SMS) has decided to increase the staffing in the three Emergency Services for overnight also has a double doctor-nurse shift order to improve the quality of emergency care in the areas of health Algezares, Santomera and Cotillas Towers.

Plan to Improve Primary Care

This action is framed within the Improvement and Modernization Plan of Primary Care, whose monitoring committee met this week.

At that meeting, the MSS reported that during 2007 the department set up 182 beds for family physicians, 72 pediatricians and 153 nurses, with the aim of fulfilling the commitment to reduce the number of cards allocated to health professionals health and ensure that in 2010 has reduced the workload faced by some doctors in health centers.

The goal for this year is that every family doctor does not have to serve more than 1,500 patients, pediatricians more than 1,000 children and nurses to more than 1,800 patients, so that it can offer quality care.
