Since July 2013 the Region has saved two million euros for the centralized procurement of drugs through the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality
The Murciano Health Service (SMS) through Comprehensive Procurement Unit (IAU), which also includes the logistics platform of SMS, has achieved since its launch in 2011 by the Ministry of Health and Social Policy to Late last year accumulated savings of 18 million euros.

The objective of SMS through the IAU, is to promote transparency and savings through an integrated model and overview of all aspects of the supply chain avoiding duplication, standardizing the incorporation of new materials to the catalog of SMS and reaching process based on a logistic efficiency.

Hefame and SMS

Centralized purchasing through the Ministry

The Minister for Health and Social Policy examined positively the results of executing strategies centralized purchasing and recalled that "the region has a wide experience in this field, and has inspired models of other communities and implemented by the Ministry."
