The Community goes one step further for the construction of the Zeneta-Santomera motorway (28/12/2017)

The main modifications are the improvements in the links and access roads to the highway and the connection with the Reguerón highway

The regional government is taking a new step today for the construction of the section of the RM-1 highway between Zeneta and Santomera, by releasing public information in the Official Bulletin of the Region of Murcia (BORM) to update the information study of the connection of the highway with the A-7.

This was announced today by the Minister of the Presidency and Development, Pedro Rivera, at the meeting of the Governing Council, where he explained that this is the first step to advance in the tender and execution of the works of the construction pending, with a route of 11.9 kilometers

The informative study published updates the layout of the road, which was approved in 2004, after adapting it to the General Plans of Municipal Management of the municipalities of Murcia and Santomera and to the new affections to the territorial and environmental planning of the affected municipalities.

In addition, new actions have been taken into account in infrastructures developed or being executed in this section, such as the Reguerón highway.

The counselor explained that the most important modifications of the new projected route are the improvements in the links and branches of access to the highway and the new speed limit allowed.

On the one hand, the links of the highway with the A-7 and the Reguerón have been improved.

These branches will be built taking into account the construction project of the third lane of the A-7 motorway and the Reguerón highway, the latter under construction, in accordance with the conditions defined by the Ministry of Development.

The links of the new route have also been revised and updated with the regional roads and municipal roads with which it is connected, adapting them to the urban planning plans of the municipalities of Murcia and Santomera through which it runs.

The maximum speed allowed on the motorway has been increased, which goes from 90 to 100 kilometers per hour, since the gradients and the grade changes have been reduced along the new route.

The projected route has a design speed of 100 km / h, compared to the design speed of 90 km / h of the information survey approved in 2004.

Those interested will have 30 working days to consult the information study in the General Directorate of Roads, the City of Santomera and the bulletin board of the City of Murcia and if it is considered to present their allegations or observations to the project for analysis and subsequent final approval .

Once this process has been completed, the procedures for the construction of the last section of the highway, which has a length of 11.9 kilometers that separate the A-7 motorway in Santomera and the connection with the future Reguerón motorway, can be continued. the height of Alquerías.

The work will have a global investment of 110 million regional government.

This route will be added to the current layout of the highway, which exceeds 29 kilometers between San Javier and Alquerías and was executed by the Autonomous Community with an investment of 111 million euros.
