The dining rooms of the Ricardo Campillo and Madre Esperanza schools have been inaugurated (03/11/2017)

The Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Adela Martínez-Cachá, visited this morning the public schools Ricardo Campillo, in Santomera, and Madre Esperanza, in El Siscar, to officially open their school canteens, started this course.

In her tour of these schools, the counselor has been accompanied by the general directors of Educational Centers and Care for Diversity and Educational Quality, Remedios Lajara and Esperanza Moreno, by the mayor, Inma Sánchez Roca, Councilor for Education and Senior Citizens , María José Medina Palao, the mayor of Obras y Servicios, Joaquín Rubio, and other members of the municipal Corporation, as well as representatives of the management teams and the various educational centers of the municipality.

The school dining room of Ricardo Campillo served its first menus on September 11, after the City Council of Santomera took the initiative and invested 36,300 euros of its own funds to adapt a pavilion that was in disuse.

The works, completed in March, were subsequently completed with the provision of furniture and the start-up of the catering service by the Autonomous Community.

In the case of CEIP Madre Esperanza, it was also decided to reconvert previously existing spaces to a classroom and the old porch, adding an investment of close to 35,000 euros by the regional government;

the works here were executed during the past summer, although the service did not start up until yesterday.

Both the mayor and the Councilor for Education have agreed that both canteens respond to "a long demand from the educational community of these centers" and that they represent an important step towards the "goal of getting all the public centers of the municipality to provide the same services and are on equal terms. "

The santomeranas policies have also influenced that thanks to these new dining rooms will be significantly expanded "the offer of existing dining spaces in our municipality, which was completely clogged."

The counselor, on the other hand, has highlighted the role that these spaces fulfill when it comes to "favoring both the reconciliation of work and family life as well as nutritional education and healthy habits of the students".
